Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston Feeds Our Neighbors!

Every once in a while an idea happens in the event industry that just catches on and adds more than just style to a fabulous event. The New England Chapter of The National Association of Catering Executives, of which I am a proud board member, launched an initiative in 2011 to educate venues, caterers, planners and clients about the ease, joy and non-liability of contributing left over food to local non-profit shelters.
Our catering industry prepares such fabulous edibles and it is tragic to see so much of it dumped in the trash at the end of our events. There is no liability in donating food to non-profits.
We are seeing momentum build as more and more of our professionals are organizing food donations and discovering how easy it really is.

On February 9, 2012, Lyndsay Picciano and The Fairmont Copley Plaza donated 100 plated entrees from a non-profit event to Boston Rescue Mission.
Regarding Boston Rescue Mission, Boston Rescue Mission   info@bostonrescuemission.com Lyndsay commented: "It was very simple to work with them".
